Acupuncture for Pain Denver

“I had been dealing with severe back pain for almost one year. As an advocate of Acupuncture, I had been seeing a different practitioner who was somewhat helpful but I had not gotten complete relief. I met Amber at her health booth – It was immediately obvious she took her work very seriously and was very accomplished.
Two months later, I have resumed all my previous activities, including Zumba at my normal intensity level!!! This is huge, as working out regularly is key to my sense of well being.
Amber is highly skilled and trained in a different acupuncture technique. In addition, her knowledge and application of Chinese Herbal Medicine is spot on. I highly recommend Amber and the Vitality Center- Acupuncture is effective for a wide variety of conditions. This, and the use of herbs and dietary assessments provide a comprehensive program for health restoration and maintenance.”

Acupuncture can be regarded as the physical therapy of Chinese medicine. Although modern day acupuncture is used to treat a wide variety of problems, its most efficacious use is for pain. The incredible results acupuncture has to offer is in its ability to provide relief- instantaneously. When used appropriately, there is no better tool for pain.
Acupuncture works by stimulating the nervous system. There are many reasons a person may be dealing with pain, and when treating pain we can use acupuncture diagnostically to a degree.
Pain caused by structural problems such as nerve impingement, disc problems, and degeneration of joints and surrounding cartilage and tissues do not respond well to acupuncture.
DNA acupuncture works so well for most people that if there is no response, this is a red flag and may need another kind of therapy or perhaps surgical intervention. Pain that is not caused by a structural problem is extremely responsive to treatment with acupuncture. Acupuncture is mediated through the nervous system and the goal with inserting needles is to talk to the mid brain. This results in the immediate release of enkephalins, the body’s natural pain-killers. This is what provides the immediate relief. When the pain stops vasodilation occurs allowing blood to go to the desired area and start healing.
Pain should never be ignored, it is how your body asks you to pay attention to its internal mechanism telling you that something is not right and needs to be addressed.
Unfortunately, most people ignore their pain and suffer through it until it becomes a major problem. If the problem has gone unattended it can take longer and be more difficult to treat or may cause permanent damage. Those who choose not to take the time soon after the first symptom arises will often spend more time and more money later. Don’t ignore your body! It’s the only one you get.
